Completed in 2006, the simple yet cozy Guest House I provides both long-term and short-term accommodation for faculty and visitors. Above the entrance is the work of public art by Lin Po Jui（林伯瑞）titled Homecoming of Migrant Birds, conveying the idea that, much like migratory birds, graduates of NTHU always return to their alma mater. Mounted on a curving framework, this flock of stainless steel birds all flying in the same direction creates an elegant visual effect which compliments the square angles of the building itself, providing a sense of natural harmony appreciated by residents and visitors alike.
