On the eastern side of Lake Success（成功湖）is a small island commonly known as Hsikua（Watermelon）Island（西瓜島）. The Kochin Footbridge（克勤橋）, built in 1975 and leading to the island, was sponsored by the graduate students of the class of 1965.

In 2023, the restoration of Lake Success was successfully completed. During this project, a pavilion was built on the island to provide a place for visitors to rest and enjoy the scenery, and the surrounding environment was improved, further  enhancing the beauty of the lakeside view. In appreciation of a donation from YN Chen（陳昱寧）（Department of Physics, 1974）, Hsikua（Watermelon）Island（西瓜島）was officially named Yu-Ning Island（昱寧島）.
