The College of Education Building is located at the southeastern corner of the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) campus. Its exterior features a distinctive red gateway symbolizing a “Gateway to Advancing the Way,” welcoming students into the teaching profession and carrying forward the traditions and mission of education.
Officially opened in the 2025–2026 academic year, the building was designed around the concept of a “College Centered.” With eight aboveground floors and two basement levels encompassing more than 285,000 square feet of gross floor area, it removes spatial barriers between departments and integrates teaching, research, administration, and shared public spaces. As a major construction project following the 2016 merger of National Tsing Hua University and National Hsinchu University of Education, the building marks a new milestone in the integration of the two institutions’ educational resources and the continuation of their teacher education legacy.
The building houses makerspaces, storytelling and picture book classrooms, STEAM classrooms, dance studios, theater classrooms, and interactive learning spaces. Together, these facilities foster an open, collaborative learning environment that encourages shared resources, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mutual learning.
Guided by the principle that “space itself educates,” the building brings together humanistic care, innovative practice, and interdisciplinary exchange. It aspires to serve as a new hub for education at NTHU and to open a new chapter in the university’s development.
