There are 36 species of frogs native to Taiwan, 14 of which are only found on this island. Professor Li Chia-wei of the Department of Life Sciences has recently implemented a plan to protect Taiwan’s endangered frog species. As part of the plan, NTHU has recently become the nation’s first university with a “frog house,” the main purpose of which is frog conservation and propagating tadpoles for reintroduction into their native environment. Built with sponsorship provided by the President of Alumni Association Tsai Jinbu, the first phase of the Frog House is already completed, and the second phase is now in the preparation stage.。
