Earth God Temple(新土地公廟)

Located on a slope next to the Go Garden, the Earth God Temple(2015)was built on the site of an earlier temple dedicated to the Earth God, and was completely funded by donations. This small structure has a red-tile roof and colorful artwork; above the entrance are five gold characters on a red background meaning “Tsing Hua Earth God Temple,” flanked by golden dragons; on the two round columns are couplets meaning “May all sentient beings meet with blessings like unto a mountain of gems; let the entire Tsing Hua community be endowed with boundless virtue.” Between the columns is a splendid incense burner, and next to the Temple is an incinerator for burning joss paper. This pleasant site is graced with a pond and a dense grove of trees. The Earth God is a tutelary deity who protects and blesses a particular locality, in this case, NTHU.
